Course Terms

These terms apply when you buy an online course from Melbourne Criminal Defence Lawyers, a division of Chua Tan Associates. Courses are sold by Chua Tan Lawyers Pty Ltd (ABN 84 613 093 182), trading as Chua Tan Associates.

Educational purpose only

Our courses are general educational content. They are not legal advice and are not tailored to your situation. Buying or using a course does not create a lawyer–client relationship.

Who the courses are for

The traffic plea course is designed for people who have decided to plead guilty to a minor traffic offence. It is not suitable for serious or indictable offences that could lead to imprisonment, or where you dispute the facts or intend to plead not guilty. You should seek legal advice about the strength of the prosecution case, any available defences, and whether to plead guilty.

Price and access

Each course costs $99 (inc. GST), paid once. We can provide a tax invoice on request. Payment gives one person access to that course’s lessons and downloads through their account for 7 days from purchase. Access then ends automatically; please download the worksheets and templates you want to keep during that time. Please do not share your login, the videos or the materials.

Upgrading to a consultation

If you book an online consultation within two weeks of buying a course, the course fee is credited towards it and you pay the balance on the day of the consultation: $231 for 30 minutes (summary offences and intervention orders, $330 inc. GST in total) or $561 for 60 minutes (indictable offences, $660 inc. GST in total). A consultation is legal advice from Chua Tan Lawyers Pty Ltd. We will first check that we can act for you, and a lawyer–client relationship begins only when we confirm that in writing.

Refunds

Because you get immediate access to digital content, we do not offer refunds for change of mind once access to the course has been provided. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that cannot be excluded.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the decisions you make about your case, including how you plead and what you say in court. Court outcomes depend on the facts and on the magistrate.

Intellectual property

All course videos, worksheets and templates are owned by Chua Tan Associates. You may use the templates to prepare your own matter, but may not copy, resell or distribute the course.
